History of Fashion, A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own
Oh what a road to walk down, the history of fashion. Fashion is an art form that you wear. When one person constructs an outfit, they do it in all different kinds of ways. Through out history, people have kept an eye out on the cat walk to see what new styles are coming up. Fashion designs and styles are talked about in movies, different fashion magazines and on TV.
You have two types of fashion, high fashion and good fashion. You can make your own designs with a dress making pattern. High fashion clothing is very expensive and the uses of these garments don’t go past you wearing the item for more than one time. Good fashion clothing can be clothing that either has a designer attached to it or not, but the clothing looks great.
Fashion style for women’s clothing goes from something that hugs the body to loose fitting clothing with something tied around it. Zippers can go up the back or right down the side. Jeans have designs on them or they can be plain. Suits can be tailored to fit the body to those that drape the body.
Good taste comes from the time period that one lives it. Some skirts were fashionable above the knee, while others drape below the knee. Different colors and styles of the fabric represent good taste it is highest form. There are different time periods that are still in fashion today. Some people like to be bold and start new fashion trends, while others just stick within the guidelines of the time.
You can get a good idea of fashion by looking at different magazines. These tell you what is current in style and what is out. Many times people go to museums to get some ideas.
Make it a habit to observe what people are wearing. Subscribe to different fashion magazines or bookmark some of your favorite fashion URLs that might be online. See what other people are talking about. Watch the ads in the magazines as well.
When you see something of good style make a note of how you would change the fashion yourself into something different. Get a sewing machine and rip apart some of your clothing and make it into a new piece. Put some lining in a coat or a patch on a pair of jeans.
There are some many different places you can get fashion ideas from. Is it raining outside or snowing? This can give you ideas. Ideas can come from watching children play in the park, or music that you hear over the radio that stirs up your creative side. You can always find style in the basic time frame we live in. Things change over time. Certain pieces come back and others are gone forever. That is my take on the history of fashion.
